Boulder's Bikeways [video]

At the last Boulder Real Estate Meetup, we were joined by Cris Jones, transit planner for the City of Boulder. In his talk, he discussed the city's efforts to get people out of their cars and how new green ways often become community assets.

He also talked about several upcoming projects designed to improve bicycle infrastructure in areas that are automobile dominated. Those projects include several improvements to 30th Street (new bike lanes, an underpass, and connections to Goose Creek path) and new bike lanes along Arapahoe Ave.

As usual, the Q&A often take us to unexpected places. Questions included - should Segways or electric cycles be allowed on bike paths? How about an underpass to 29th street from Scott Carpenter Park? Is Boulder anti-car? What about long distance bike paths - i.e. regional trips?
