Boulder Transit Village Update

by Osman Parvez

Local (listener supported) community radio KGNU ran a piece today on Boulder Transit Village and FasTracks on its Metro program. Tad Kline hosted with guests Dick McLean, Boulder's representative to the RTD Board and Simon Mole, member of the Boulder Planning Board. The Planning Board is currently deeply engaged in the planning of Boulder Transit Village.

The anticipated changes being studied by the planning board include rezoning a significant portion of the currently industrial area surrounding the future Boulder Transit Village. This is also in the same area as the 29th Street development. With estimates for housing 10,000 people being discussed (~10% of Boulder's current housing), it's a big project with even bigger implications for the future of Boulder.

You can listen or download the MP3 of KGNU's Metro program by going to the KGNU website. If for some reason, the download is no longer available, contact me and I'll help you get a copy.

p.s. We recently published a full research article about Boulder Transit Village and FasTracks in our quarterly research report. If you aren't familiar with this project, this is a great overview. We may put it online at a later date but currently it's only available as a downloadable PDF. If you'd like a copy, please contact me via email at osman@realtyunique.com or call me at 303.746.6896.
